To prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have temporarily changed how we are serving our community. Normal operations, including membership activities and most programs, are temporarily suspended. Our Kroc Center team continues to support emergency disaster services by feeding homeless individuals, providing nutritious meals to our youth, distributing grocery bags through our pantry, offering virtual programming and serving as a Community Hub for our children.

The Salvation Army Kroc Center – San Francisco Suspends Regular Operations; Transitions to Emergency Response Efforts
In response to the novel coronavirus pandemic, The Salvation Army has evolved service delivery to ensure that immediate needs of community members, first responders, and government partners are met. As a part of this effort, beginning on March 17, 2020, The Salvation Army Community Center in San Francisco will shift away from regular operations in order to provide increased community assistance and support. At this time, all regular Kroc Center – San Francisco classes and membership offerings will be suspended.
Given the current financial climate, The Salvation Army Kroc Center – San Francisco has made the decision to suspend all membership payments as of March 20, 2020. “We know that this is a time when every penny counts,” said The Salvation Army Officer, Major Raymond Erickson-King. “We want you to be assured that we are taking every step to take care of the San Francisco community.” During this time, memberships will also be extended in order to compensate for the time when membership benefits are unavailable.
The Salvation Army Kroc Center – San Francisco is in regular communication with area emergency agencies including San Francisco’s Department of Children, Youth, and Their Families and is working collectively with other local businesses and groups to support the community during this challenging time.
During the following weeks, The Salvation Army Kroc Center – San Francisco will be providing the following services to the San Francisco community:
• To-go breakfast and lunch meals for children ages 17 and under
• Food pantry for those registered with the San Francisco Food Bank
• Virtual young adult group and Sunday services
• Social and spiritual community support
